Careers

Work where
the work is.

Most of us joined ID because we wanted to spend our days outdoors, working on real sites, with people who take the ecology seriously. We've stayed because the work has stayed interesting.

Why work with us

A small team,
with room to grow.

We're deliberately tight-knit — twelve staff, not fifty — and we keep it that way because the quality of our work depends on knowing each site and each other well.

— 01

Real field work

Our ecologists spend 60%+ of their time on site. If you'd rather live in spreadsheets, we're probably not it.

— 02

Proper training

ChemCert, CSF, first aid, 4WD — we pay for the tickets and give you the time to earn them properly.

— 03

Vehicle & gear

Field roles come with a ute, a laptop and all the PPE you need. We replace kit before it becomes a problem, not after.

— 04

Say in the work

Crew leads scope their own jobs. Ecologists choose their sites when possible. No one's here to be managed — everyone's here to deliver.

— 05

Flexible hours

We track outcomes, not hours. Early starts in summer, late finishes in winter, and RDOs when the season allows.

— 06

Long tenure

Our average tenure is over six years. People stay because the work is varied and the team is tight.
